 Volunteer Program

Volunteers play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of SKMC, assisting patients, families and healthcare professionals on a daily basis. At information desks, on hospital floors, and in many of patient service areas it is often the face of the volunteer that first greets the patient.

SKMC volunteers are a multicultural mix of people of all ages who dedicate their time and energy to help others. They reach out with their talent, skill, interest and compassion to help meet the needs of patients and the community by assisting in a variety of ways.

Why Are Volunteers Important to SKMC?

Volunteers play a vital role in delivering the SKMC mission through educating the community and increasing their awareness of the many services available at SKMC. Volunteers also assist in educating the community about many health related issues.

What Do Volunteers Do?

SKMC volunteers provide many valuable services such as greeting and escorting patients and their families to various locations within SKMC, providing wheel-chair assistance to patients, in addition to providing office and administrative assistance in various departments.
