03 January 2012
Abu Dhabi –UAE: Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC), managed by Cleveland Clinic, organizes a public health talk about ‘Essentials of Happy Life’ on Tuesday 3 January 2012 at the Behavioral Sciences Pavilion auditorium from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. This health talk is part of the Mental Health Awareness Program that started in March 2010, and includes a series of health talks in Arabic language every month on different topics related to mental health and social problems. The invitation is extended to the public and SKMC’s patients. SKMC is part of the SEHA Health System and is owned and operated by Abu Dhabi Health Services Company PJSC (SEHA), which is responsible for the curative activities of all the public hospitals and clinics in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The Mental Health Awareness Program is organized by the Behavioral Science Pavilion (BSP) of SKMC, a comprehensive psychiatric facility committed to providing mental health treatment services in the UAE. The program consists of monthly public health talks about different topics related to mental health in Arabic language. The talks are given by a panel of mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists as well as social workers from the BSP. Each session includes a question and answer session to answer the attendees’ inquiries.
The talk is scheduled for 3 January 2012 and will address elements of the essentials of a happy life. The talk will be given in Arabic language by Dr. Rami Nizar Al Shihabi, Clinical Psychologist, in cooperation with Consultant Psychiatrist, Dr. Medhat Al Sabbahi and Social Worker, Ayman Abdulla.
After the presentation, the door will be open for the attendees’ questions and discussions in order to give them the chance to better understand and correct any miscomprehension or confusion.
Dr. Maha Al Ameri, BSP Director stated, “We are very careful when it comes to choosing the topic for these monthly awareness lectures. We look forward to addressing issues that are of utmost importance to the community. This is our seventeenth monthly lecture and we are committed to go on with these talks in order to help people in the community understand the importance of psychological wellbeing and improve the quality of their lives.”
Dr. Tarek Darwish, Medical Director of BSP added, “The sixteen previous health talks of the mental health awareness program were a great success for our team and a proof of the community’s great interest to find out about mental health issues in order to remain well balanced and healthy.”
Dr. Rami Nizar Al Shihabi, Clinical Psychologist said, “Almost all of us strive to be happy and this lecture will provide us with some of the tools we can use to get there. During this talk, I will be presenting on what an enduring level of happiness means in our lives and how we can go about achieving that sense of happiness. In addition we will also touch on satisfaction regarding our lives and how that can create a sense of happiness. We all deserve to happy, so let us master the tools.
