- Emergency Procedures:
Do follow the directions of the most senior person in charge of each area or department if there is an emergency (such as a fire).
- Privacy/Confidentiality Concerns:
Do contact the Compliments and Complaints Officer if there are concerns regarding privacy or confidentiality issues.
- Visitors and Sitters:
Do be considerate of others by not bringing children under the age of 13 years to the hospital. Supervise children at all times to protect their safety and that of others.
- Smoking:
Do not smoke! SKMC has a completely smoke-free environment inside and outside all campus facilities.
- Food:
Do not bring in food for patients from outside unless physician approval has been given. Patients who accept food from sources outside SKMC are required to eat it as soon as it is received. Food that is not eaten right away is to be removed from the facility or thrown away. The hospital cafeteria is not permitted to cook food that has been brought here by visitors for patients.
- Bukhoor or Incense:
Do not bring bukhoor or incense to burn in the patient’s room. This is dangerous for our patients' health and it may cause a fire.
- Rugs & Heaters:
Do not bring rugs or electric heaters to patient's rooms.
