The Critical Care Institute at SKMC provides specialized care to critically ill patients, adults, pediatric and neonates.  The Institute is staffed and managed by a multi-disciplinary team consisting of critical care physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, physical therapists and dieticians, and is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art facilities.

The Institute physicians are all board certified in critical care medicine and many have varied backgrounds with credentials in Anesthesia, Medicine and Pediatrics.  All nurses are trained in the field of critical care and some with experience in pediatric critical care, all in effort to provide the best of specialized care to the patients and their families.

The management philosophy is that of a closed unit, one in which multi-disciplinary critical care team takes full and direct responsibility for the care of the patient in consultation with appropriate services.
