From the outset, the Behavioral Science Pavilion has been committed to the community. It was established to ensure the best mental health care for the Abu Dhabi community and has grown to become the national resource center for clinical work, teaching and research.
The educational role is at the heart of this intention. Regular lectures and talks are held for relatives of patients and the
community at large. Scientific lectures to SKMC staff as well as seminars and meetings for specialist bodies are also held. This approach is designed to ensure that the most advanced scientific knowledge at SKMC is shared throughout its facilities and passed on as treatment plans to patients, their relatives and often the general public to encourage a wider understanding of the issue of mental health.
